It's Canal Day

Had a lie in until about 10:30 and then made a slow start. Caught up with a couple of friends on the phone and in person at lunch time and then drove down to town to have look round at Canal Day. Sharon had been working on the council's local plan exhibition all morning so I met her and we had a mooch round.
Watched the Morris Dancers, love the http://armaleggan.org/ gothic looking Border Morris. Lauren and her dance school had been thrown into chaos by the Canal Day organisers inability to plan, but someone stepped in and save the day, moving them to the same arena as the Morris Dancers and adjusting the schedule.

Had a very nice pork roll and a water buffalo burger for lunch. Saw some lovely narrowboats and generally had a good time. Only thing missing was a couple of pints of Hook Norton, but I had the car and I've not been well you know.

    1. No Penny. They farm water buffalo at Napton near the grand union canal. Then they slaughter them and make them into joints and burgers, put them in a van and drive them to Banbury, where they cook them. A very soft, lean and flakey meat high in protein and in week 2 of the cycle I need protein to get all the good cells growing.
